Marlene was a German actress who was also a US citizen thus why the logo is also in the United States. She was born on December 27 1901 in Germany and passed at the age of 90 on May 6 1992 in Paris France. She really became popular during the Hollywood films era of the 1930s with The Blue Angel Morocco Shanghai Express and Desire. She was also known as a humanitarian during the war times and received awards for thus efforts from countries including United States France Belgium and Israel. Today on Google's home page is a special Google logo Doodle for the 116th birthday of Marlene Dietrich.  Read more
