google amp icon within story image

Google is showing AMP icon in the carousel within the image, as opposed to outside of the image.   You can still see both versions depending on the type of snippet you are looking at..   For example, the news carousel with articles only from specific site, you can see AMP icon right in the featured image..   But in Top Stories carousel, AMP icon is outside of the image..   I am not sure if this is new or I just did not notice this difference before.   Mordy Obserstein felt it was new and posted it on Twitter..   This is not big deal except I do wonder why the treatment for AMP logo based on the two types of queries..   Read more
