woocommerce: update self-hosted plugin @ wp dashboard

I thought WordPress dashboard could notify you of plugin updates and let you update plugins that are on WordPress repository, and I was wrong..   With these two filters, WordPress that your custom plugin ZIP file is downloadable at given URL, show notification to the customer that plugin update is available, let them update with 1 click, let them enable auto-updates..   we need to notify WordPress that there is version available, otherwise the code you find at Step 4 wo not trigger..   All WordPress needs is to retrieve the ZIP file name and the version, so that it can get them dynamically and trigger the update notification..   Then, save the file with .JSON extension, and place this at URL of your own website e.g www businessbloomer com blabla plugin-updates json.   Note 2 you need to know, also, the name of the folder, and the name of the plugin file.   In order to let WordPress user update plugin that you host somewhere else, you need to develop the plugin so that WordPress can download it to keep JSON changelog file on URL, so that WordPress knows if there is update available..   I have tested this code with Storefront, WooCommerce version listed above and WordPress-friendly hosting.   You can learn how to customize WooCommerce without unnecessary plugins, how to configure WooCommerce plugin settings and even how to WooCommerce troubleshooting in case of bug...   Of course this website uses WooCommerce plugin, Storefront theme and runs on WooCommerce-friendly hosting...   Read more
